Oh yeah I mean it :mrgreen:

Actually,there are lots of colour idioms in English and they have different meanings. In this topic we are going to collect these idioms so we'll learn new special idioms and have fun!

To have green fingers means that you are good at gardening. This expression is used in British English and they say in American English :have a green thumb

White elephant: If you describe sth as a white elephant, you mean that is a waste of money and completely useless

Pink slip : a notice from an employer that a recipient's employment is being terminated

green-eyed monster Jealousy, as in Bella knew that her husband sometimes succumbed to the green-eyed monster. This expression was coined by Shakespeare in Othello (3:3), where Iago says: "O! beware, my lord, of jealousy; it is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on." It is thought to allude to cats, often green-eyed, who tease their prey.

Feeling blue: If you feel blue, then you are feeling unwell, mainly associated with depression or unhappiness.

A red letter day: you refer to a day as a red letter day when sth very important or exciting happens then

With flying colours: If you pass something with flying colors, you pass it easily, with a very high mark or grade.

Here is the new idiom for today:
A red letter day: you refer to a day as a red letter day when sth very important or exciting happens then
For example,the day in which I was born was a red letter day for my parents :mrgreen:

I have new one, and it is nice. It is NOT about a particular colour but about colors in general. :mrgreen:

With flying colours: If you pass something with flying colors, you pass it easily, with a very high mark or grade.
Example: I passed all my subjects in the third year with flying colours except translation5; it was just 50 :cry:
